This diverse set from avant-garde saxophonist Julius Hemphill features an all-star cast, including saxophonist Marty Ehrlich and guitarist Bill Frisell. While the album consists entirely of original compositions and arrangements, the record’s centerpiece is “Drunk on God,” an eight movement setting of a poem by K. Curtis Lyle.
